All employees who will be giving birth, regardless of their length of service, hours worked and permanent / temporary status will be entitled to time off with full pay in order to attend ante-natal appointments. An employee may be asked to provide evidence of attendance. The other parent will be entitled to take unpaid leave, flexi time or annual leave to accompany to ante-natal appointments.

In the event event of a miscarriage, stillbirth or a child dying after birth after the 24th week of pregnancy, the employee is still entitled to full maternity leave (or paternity/parental leave). If this occurs before the 24th week, the employee is not eligible for maternity leave but is eligible for sickness leave and will be granted additional compassionate leave if required. Employees who terminate a pregnancy are eligible for sickness absence and/or compassionate leave if required.
