There are two different entitlements to Maternity Pay – Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Company Maternity Pay (CMP).

SMP: to qualify for SMP you must:
• Have worked continuously for at least 26 weeks at the end of your Qualifying Week and still be employed during that week

Company Maternity Pay:
1 or more years continuous service at the Expected Week of Childbirth:
10 weeks 100% Basic Pay
29 weeks SMP
13 weeks unpaid

3 or more years continuous service at the Expected Week of Childbirth:
10 weeks 100% Basic Pay
8 weeks 50% Basic Pay
21 weeks SMP
13 weeks unpaid

How long do you have to work at the company to qualify?

Company Maternity Pay: 1 year,
Enhanced after 3 years of service

If you decide to cease employment whilst on leave what is the clawback policy?

The company reserve the right to ask for the difference between SMP and Company Maternity Pay (CMP) to be reimbursed should you leave within 6 months of returning from a period of Maternity Leave. Where possible this would be recovered from your final salary. If not it would need to be repaid over a 3 month period.
If you do not intend to return to work after the birth of your child we would encourage you to discuss this with us prior to going on Maternity Leave
