Entitlement to Maternity leave is a maximum of 52 weeks, made up of 26 weeks’ ordinary maternity leave and 26 weeks’ additional maternity leave irrespective of an Employee’s length of service or the number of hours worked each week.

During the period of OML, the contract of employment continues in force and the Employee is entitled to receive all contractual benefits, except for salary. The salary will be replaced by Company/Statutory Maternity Pay if eligible or Maternity Allowance.

During the period of AML, the contract of employment continues in force and the Employee is entitled to receive all contractual benefits, except for salary. Salary will be replaced by statutory maternity pay for the first 13 weeks of additional maternity leave, if eligible or Maternity Allowance. The remaining 13 weeks of additional maternity leave are unpaid.

How long do you have to work at the company to qualify?

Benefit irrespective of an Employee’s length of service or the number of hours worked each week.

Additional benefit: All pregnant employees with 26 weeks or more continuous service at the 15th week before the baby is due are entitled to company (enhanced) maternity pay which comprises of 26 weeks at 100% of average weekly earnings. After this period, normal Statutory Maternity Pay rules will apply for the remaining 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay entitlement (which is a maximum 39 weeks).

If you decide to cease employment whilst on leave what is the clawback policy?

If an Employee does not wish to return to work, they must give notice of resignation as soon as possible and in accordance with their contract of employment.
