Statutory maternity pay (SMP) is payable for up to 39 weeks provided you have at least 26 weeks’ continuous employment with IKEA at the end of the Qualifying Week and your average earnings are not less than the lower earnings limit set by the Government each tax year.
• The first 6 weeks SMP are paid at 90% of your average earnings and the remaining 33 weeks are paid at a rate set by the Government each year.
• If you have over 26 weeks’ service with IKEA at the Qualifying Week, IKEA will enhance the first 6 weeks’ SMP to 100% of your average earnings based on average hours.
• If you have 2 years’ service at the Qualifying Week you will receive an additional 12 weeks at 50% pay, based on contractual hours. Your SMP payment is included in this 50%
