Parental Bereavement

Parents who suffer the loss of a child who is under the age of 18; or experience a stillbirth after 24 weeks of pregnancy; are entitled to 2 weeks parental bereavement leave (pro-rata for part-time staff.) This leave can be taken as either a single block of two weeks or as separate blocks of one week, or, one week only, during the period of 56 weeks from the child’s death. In the circumstances of a stillbirth after the 24th week of pregnancy, the employee will also be entitled to full maternity leave.
